In 2012 I went to Costa Rica for a 2 month sojourn with my husband Michael, though at that time he was not yet my husband. He grew up surfing in Southern California and had previously made a few trips to Costa Rica for surfing and general touring. I had never been there, but I'm usually game to try new things and it sounded amazing. We chose a spot that Michael knew that has consistently good surf and would also be a good place for me to learn. We are fortunate that we were able to arrange a 2 month absence from our jobs and that we found a suitable house and dog sitter. I wanted to chronicle our journey and so tried my hand at blogging for the first time.
